Imagine as though you've been transported back in time, and experience what it was like to saddle up to a saloon, explore a mine or ride a steam train through the Wild West. At the Tahoe House Hotel, we may not know how the West was won, but we have been winning hearts since our grand re-opening in early 2020. This charming, historic hotel dates back to 1859 and is located in the heart of historic Virginia City.
Five of the rooms face infamous C Street and come with their own semi private balconies (above the boardwalk) for enjoying coffee and sunrises or wine and sunsets. After spending the day exploring the history, shopping and adventures of Virginia City, join us at the Lobby Bar for dining recommendations and to enjoy one of our award-winning cocktails. The Great Room and the Courtyard Garden are perfect spots for relaxing with a good book and for weddings and private events.
Check out our last minute specials and Lake Tahoe/Reno/Carson City excursions. We are open 24 hours and offer complimentary continental breakfast, free parking and free WiFi.

Wish I could give them 100 stars! What a magical place full of history in our favorite town!! Paul was wonderful to work with while planning our wedding, he even helped us to find a place for dinner and a photographer. The day of the wedding they took amazing care of anything we needed. Jill went as far as to bring us mimosas to the carriage house while I was getting ready. It was like she knew a cocktail was what I needed! The next morning we enjoyed the complementary breakfast in the great room, Brianna sure can bake delicious muffins!! Highly recommend staying at the Tahoe House Hotel! Paul, Brianna and Jill thank you so much for making our big day so special!!

I accidentally stumbled onto this Inn and had to stay. The Mark Twain Study was available and in my opinion the best room in the place. Private balcony, cute antiques, cozy atmosphere and some extra touches. I had the greatest sleep too. The owner made me a phenomenal Moscow mule and told me a little bit of Virginia City History. I may or may not have even seen a ghost. I wish I didn't have to leave. If I could give this place 10 stars out of 5 I would. It has everything...romantic charm, historical, extraordinary hospitality, delicious coffee, cute bar, amazing morning breakfast and maybe even a ghost siting or two
GREAT hotel right in the center of town with beautiful amenities and incredible staff. Hospitality there truly makes all the difference. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here to all who seek an amazing experience for a reasonable price!
I had such an amazing experience, Brianna and Paul were so welcoming, and the place was just so cute! I will definitely be back to stay again!
