WELCOME TO VIRGINIA CITY'S HISTORIC

TAHOE HOUSE HOTEL

Imagine as though you've been transported back in time, and experience what it was like to saddle up to a saloon, explore a mine or ride a steam train through the Wild West.  At the Tahoe House Hotel, we may not know how the West was won, but we have been winning hearts since our grand re-opening in early 2020.  This charming, historic hotel dates back to 1859 and is located in the heart of historic Virginia City.

Five of the rooms face infamous C Street and come with their own semi private balconies (above the boardwalk) for enjoying coffee and sunrises or wine and sunsets.  After spending the day exploring the history, shopping and adventures of Virginia City, join us at the Lobby Bar for dining recommendations and to enjoy one of our award-winning cocktails.  The Great Room and the Courtyard Garden are perfect spots for relaxing with a good book and for weddings and private events.

Check out our last minute specials and Lake Tahoe/Reno/Carson City excursions. We are open 24 hours and offer complimentary continental breakfast, free parking and free WiFi.

FIVE GOLD STARS
What a joy this place was! Paul the owner is so welcoming and sweet. Everyone who works there I can say the same about. The rooms are darling, there is a bar with a beautiful room to hang out in or you can go out on the balcony and over look the strip. My husband and I can't wait to come back.

Paul the owner/ Manager has put so much detail into renovating The Tahoe house nothing was done to cut corners and it really shows. To every towel you use and every cup of coffee that is offered. The friendly staff make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. I know when I go back it's where I'll be staying..

This is our second time staying here. Clean, comfortable rooms. Splurge for the cottage/carriage house if you can - such a charming little place. The little touches of the complimentary welcome craft cocktail, the local soaps in the bathroom, fluffy towels, and soft white linens make the stay even better.
